Scrantastic Spectacular returns to downtown Scranton on Sunday July 3!

Celebrating America’s birthday in downtown Scranton will be “Spectacular” once again!!

The 10th Scrantastic Spectacular will be held on Sunday, July 3, on the streets around Courthouse Square, starting at 4 PM.  This free, family-friendly event, which generally attracts a crowd of 10,000, is a partnership between Lackawanna County, Scranton Tomorrow, Audacy, Inc., the City of Scranton, and the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic.

The festival-like atmosphere will feature live bands, vendors, and children’s activities.  All of these events will be followed by a free performance featuring an ensemble of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic at 8 PM.

The evening will be capped-off at approximately 9:30 PM with a spectacular fireworks display from The Casey Garage.  The aerial show will be choreographed to music and also broadcast live over the Audacy family of stations.   People may bring lawn chairs to enjoy the music and fireworks.

The following streets will be blocked on Sunday, July 3, to allow for both the set-up and “Spectacular” to take place safely:

At 9 AM

  • North Washington Avenue between Linden Street and Lackawanna Avenue
  • Biden Street between Adams Avenue and Wyoming Avenue

At 3:30 PM

  • North Washington Avenue between Mulberry Street and Lackawanna Avenue
  • Linden Street between Wyoming Avenue and Adams Avenue
