Agency on Aging to host listening sessions

Lackawanna County Area Agency on Aging to Host Listening Sessions on Pennsylvania’s Master Plan for Older Adults

Lackawanna County, PA – The Lackawanna County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) will host four listening sessions on the Department of Aging’s development of the Master Plan for Older Adults – a 10-year, state-led and stakeholder-driven strategic plan designed to help transform the infrastructure and coordination of services for older Pennsylvanians. The master plan will also reflect the needs and preferences of this population to live where they choose and access the supports they need to thrive and age in place. 

The listening sessions will take place at the following dates & times at locations listed below:

  • Thursday, September 7, 2023, 5 pm, The North Pocono Public Library, 1315 Church Street, Moscow, PA 18444

 

  • Wednesday, September 13, 2023, 10 am, The Fallbrook Senior Community Center, 185 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, PA 18407

 

  • Thursday, September 14, 2023, 11 am, MyCIL-Center for Independent Living, 1142 Sanderson Avenue, Scranton, PA 18509

 

  • Wednesday, September 27, 2023, 1 pm, The Abington Community Library, 1200 West Grove Street, Clarks Summit, PA 18411

Stakeholders, older adults, and people living with disabilities, their families, caregivers, and community leaders are invited to hear an overview of the plan, its core principles, and why such a plan is needed for Pennsylvania. There will be opportunities for those in attendance to provide comments and input on the plan.

Individuals who are unable to attend can still provide input on the plan. They can can either email AgingPlan@pa.gov, provide feedback through an online form, or mail comments to the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, c/o Master Plan, 555 Walnut Street, 5th Floor, Harrisburg, PA 17101.
