The primary duties of the Lackawanna County Treasurer’s Office include, but are not limited to, the receipt, custody, and disbursement of all county monies as prescribed by the County Controller and the County Commissioners.

In addition, the office acts as county collector of the 7% Hotel Tax for all hotels within county limits per ordinance #221, and collector of delinquent ONLY (not current) Real Estate Taxes.
The Lackawanna County Treasurer's Office strives to provide excellent customer service to the citizens of Lackawanna County while fulfilling the responsibilities mandated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Angela Rempe Jones
Treasurer
Lackawanna County Treasurer Angela Rempe Jones took office in 2024 and serves on the Pension Board, which administers the County Retirement Fund of over $200 million dollars. She is a Scranton native and resident who graduated from Scranton Preparatory High School and received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Scranton.
She worked in both public accounting and the private sector, and prior to the start of her term worked for ten years as director and advisor for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives’ 113th Legislative District.
Angela currently serves as board member and treasurer of the Agency for Community EmPOWERment of NEPA, and as an Ambassador for the Spirit of Hope benefiting the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute’s Community-Based Cancer Screening Navigation Program.
She has volunteered on numerous committees and organizations over the years offering countless hours of fundraising efforts throughout the community.
Angela has three children, Jake, Sammy and Delilah Jones.
