Covington Park

Covington Park, the newest county park in the North Pocono area municipality of Covington Township, features the nine-acre DeSandis Pond where residents can swim, kayak and fish. Covington Park also has a pavilion complex with picnic tables and grills, and one of the four inclusive boundless playgrounds in the Lackawanna County Park System. 

Located off of the Scranton-Pocono Highway (Route 307) at 139 Sanko Road, Covington Park is home to two baseball diamonds (one Little League and one high school sized), numerous hiking and biking trails, a multi-purpose soccer field, a basketball court, a grass volleyball court and a scenic lake trail.

  • Nine-acre lake with beach stocked twice a year by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission
  • Pavilion complex that can be reserved for groups of up to 150 people
  • Lake trail
  • Numerous hiking trails
  • Picnic tables and grills
  • Multi-purpose Soccer Field, Basketball & Volleyball Courts, two baseball diamonds

The Lackawanna County Parks and Recreation Department offers a wide range of low-cost sports clinics for children and adults throughout the year. In addition, the department offers various events including children’s fishing derbies, golf tournaments, bocce tournaments and cross country races. Pavilion Rentals:

To reserve a pavilion, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 570-963-6764. Pavilions are rented on a first-come, first-serve basis.
