| Recorder of Deeds Documents Now On Line |
| |
Scranton, PA – Residents, attorneys, title searchers and others now have two on-line options to view documents filed at the Lackawanna County Recorder of Deeds Office, according to Recorder of Deeds Evie Rafalko-McNulty.
Both options use Landex Operating systems. Landex Web Access is a free method to access Recorder of Deeds documents that will satisfy most needs of the general public. Title searchers and others requiring more detailed reports can sign up for the Landex Remote Application, a paid service that charges 10 cents per minute and 5 cents per page for copies. To access the services, go to the Recorder of Deeds web page.
Any costs associated with the systems were paid by the Recorder of Deeds Office through state mandated recording fees that individuals pay to the office. In addition, the office will receive a percentage of the amount users pay for the Landex Remote Application. Mrs. Rafalko-McNulty also expects that the new system will save her office money on toner and paper. Finally, Landex will allow people to access the documents from the convenience of their home or office rather than force them to make a trip to downtown Scranton.
