Nicole Shapiro, Lackawanna County Director of Environmental Sustainability, has been named one of the first connected-recyclability ambassadors by the Recycling Partnership.
 
The Partnership is a national network of recycling professionals in government and industry that seeks to use data and best practices to improve recycling performance and outcomes nationwide. It maintains a Recycling Solutions Hub,  https://community.recyclingpartnership.org, which provides information on known means to increase recycling and improve outcomes, and the National Recycling Database, which provides comprehensive data on recycling nationwide.

As one of the first connected-recyclability ambassadors, Shapiro will use employ those tools to help improve recycling in Lackawanna County and report the results to the national organization to help it refine its data and promotional efforts.
